April 21, 2009
With ten of their show string, Timberland Alpacas had a great showing at the 2009 Alpacapalooza Show that was held in Puyallup, Washington on the first weekend of April. Alpacapalooza is a Level V show, and as usual, the Western Washington affiliate hosted a well-run, wonderful event. Even the weather cooperated this year, although on the Thursday prior to the show, our alpacas were pretty drenched from the rain. With the help of fans, an overnight in our barns, and dry weekend weather, all ten had pretty decent looking fleeces by Saturday. "Decent" may be an understatement, since all ten ribboned spectacularly. Here is the breakdown of the ten: six first places, three seconds, and one fourth.
Some of the highlights:
Hemingway’s Hemiaccoyo Grand Slam – First: two years +; white male.
Apocalypse’s Hemiaccoyo Sentinel – Second: yearling; white male.
Hemingway’s Hemiaccoyo Grand Slam – Champion White Male (out of 54).
Apocalypse’s Hemiaccoyo Sensei – First: two years +; light male.
Ferrari’s Hemiaccoyo Kashmir – First: yearling light fawn male.
Ferrari’s Peruvian Eminence – First: juvenile light fawn male.
Apocalypse’s Hemiaccoyo Sensei – Champion Light Male (out of 33).
Apocalypse’s Hemiaccoyo Hana – Second: yearling white female.
